Educational assessments
Understanding how you learn — properly
A comprehensive SpLD assessment with Jane Dupree provides clarity, a formal report, and a clear path forward.
What is an educational assessment?
An educational assessment is a detailed evaluation of how you process and learn information. It identifies the presence and nature of Specific Learning Difficulties, documents your cognitive and achievement strengths and challenges, and provides a formal report that can be used with schools, universities, employers, and support services.
For many people, a formal assessment is the first time they truly understand why certain things have always felt harder — and that understanding can be transformative.
Children and young people
Assessments can support access arrangements at school or college, EHCP applications, and targeted intervention planning.
Adults
Many adults reach adulthood without ever receiving a formal diagnosis. An assessment can unlock workplace adjustments, university support, and personal understanding.
Those awaiting NHS assessment
Private assessments can provide answers and support while waiting for NHS pathways, which can be lengthy.
The assessment process
Initial consultation
Following your initial enquiry, a conversation to discuss your background, concerns, and what you hope to gain from the assessment. Should you progress to booking an assessment, a detailed pre assessment interview will be conducted.
Assessment sessions
A series of standardised tests conducted online at home in an environment where you or your child feel comfortable and safe. It will cover your cognitive and attainment profile. This session lasts approximately 3 hours, which can be split into two separate sessions where applicable.
Detailed report
A comprehensive written report outlining findings, diagnosis where applicable, and practical recommendations.
Follow-up consultation
An online session to walk through the report together, answer your questions, and discuss next steps.
